Specimens

Please bring the specimens in a leak proof container to the surgery before 11 30 am for transportation to the hospital.

Test Results

test_vials2Patients are requested to telephone the surgery for results.

Please do not assume that the results are normal if the surgery does not contact you.

Try to call after 12.00 midday onwards.

Blood test results are usually available after a week but X-rays and scans may take a lot longer (2-3 weeks).

Note that the practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.

When you take your test you will be told how long it will be before the results are returned to the practice.

It is your responsibility to check your results and to make an appointment to discuss them with your doctor if your are advised to do so.

You can also view your previous results via Online Services (Emis Access).
